Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a highly collaborative, center-based environment. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work with a small group of K–2 students in an Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) classroom. You’ll provide essential instructional leadership and behavioral support while partnering closely with classroom staff.

In this dynamic setting, your expertise in special education will empower students to achieve meaningful progress. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), applying effective intervention and de-escalation techniques, and fostering a positive and structured classroom culture. The opportunity to apply trauma-informed approaches, PBIS, CPI, or restorative practices is highly valued.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
  • EBD licensure strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with significant behavioral needs
  • Ability to create and implement IEPs/BIPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Proven skills in classroom consultation, behavioral intervention, and de-escalation
  • Strong communication abilities and a collaborative team-oriented approach
  • Experience in Level 3 behavioral classroom settings highly prioritized

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior service in K–2 center-based special education environments
  • Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, and restorative or trauma-informed practices

This contract assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, maintaining a structured Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
