This full-time position focuses on providing specialized instruction for a classroom of approximately 6-10 students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Setting 3 environment. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and offers the chance to work exclusively at one building near Cottage Grove, MN.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license with Tier 3 or Tier 4 certification required
- Must possess an endorsement in ASD or DCD
- Demonstrated experience working with students who have Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) in a Setting 3 cluster/classroom
- Strong understanding of IEP development, behavioral intervention strategies, and differentiated instruction
- Familiarity with best practices in supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and reliability
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and case management to students in a self-contained Setting 3 classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate closely with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure comprehensive support
- Create a positive classroom climate that fosters independence, engagement, and skill development
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
This contract position provides a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, with an assignment that allows you to work in a single supportive building.
