Embrace a rewarding opportunity shaping meaningful progress for students with complex needs as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills Education for the 2026-27 school year. This contract position is designed for an educator experienced in intensive, individualized instruction—focusing on students requiring significant support due to intellectual, behavioral, and social-emotional challenges. The Intensive Services Program features a self-contained classroom serving one to two students at a time, with a minimum of two trained adults always present. You'll serve as the instructional and behavioral leader, driving programming, staff supervision, and collaboration to ensure students thrive.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher licensure
  • Previous experience in a highly structured or self-contained classroom environment
  • Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and individualized behavior plans
  • Deep understanding of behavioral, social-emotional, and adaptive needs for students with significant intellectual disabilities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and families effectively

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and create specialized educational plans for students in the Intensive Services Program
  • Implement behavioral supports and strategies to ensure a safe, positive learning environment
  • Maintain continuous supervision and mentorship of support staff within the classroom
  • Collaborate closely with families and the school team to monitor progress and adapt approaches flexibly
  • Uphold procedural compliance and documentation for all programming

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
