Licensed Certified Special Education Teacher - Cottage Grove, Oregon

Preferred Background & Credentials:

• Valid teaching license with Special Education certification
• Experience working with elementary school students, preferably in K-5 settings
• Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to adapt instruction to varied learning needs
• Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with families, staff, and other professionals
• Open to both experienced Special Education teachers and recent graduates with the appropriate credentials

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and carry out individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Provide direct instruction, interventions, and accommodations per student needs
• Create a nurturing classroom environment encouraging student growth and independence
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to manage behaviors and facilitate learning
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents for student success
• Track student progress, adjust goals as needed, and maintain accurate records
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required
