Special Education Teacher in Cottonwood Falls, KS

Qualifications:

• Active Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Demonstrated experience with early childhood and/or elementary-age students in intensive or specialized settings
• Familiarity with supporting students with autism and a broad range of developmental needs
• Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
• Adaptability and a student-centered approach to education

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students on intensive skills and autism support caseloads
• Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and school staff
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and compliance with state requirements
• Engage actively in school team meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaborations
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment tailored to each student’s needs
