Step into a rewarding role as a 5th Grade Special Education Teacher supporting student success in an engaging educational environment. In this essential role, you will:

  • Provide specialized instruction for a caseload of 9 students, while directly servicing approximately 15-17 students in reading and/or writing
  • Collaborate in co-taught and push-in classroom settings for 3-4 periods, and lead a resource period
  • Develop and adapt lessons, accommodations, and individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to student needs
  • Foster inclusive classroom environments that empower students to achieve social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and support teams to monitor and communicate progress
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal requirements for documentation and compliance

Qualifications and experience you bring:

  • Current Rhode Island teaching license with Special Education certification
  • Commitment to obtaining or providing a valid National BCI (background check)
  • Experience delivering instruction for students with diverse needs, preferably at the elementary level
  • Dedication to collaboration with general education teachers and support staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance caseload and documentation demands
