In this essential role, you will:
- Provide specialized instruction for a caseload of 9 students, while directly servicing approximately 15-17 students in reading and/or writing
- Collaborate in co-taught and push-in classroom settings for 3-4 periods, and lead a resource period
- Develop and adapt lessons, accommodations, and individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to student needs
- Foster inclusive classroom environments that empower students to achieve social, emotional, and academic growth
- Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and support teams to monitor and communicate progress
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal requirements for documentation and compliance
Qualifications and experience you bring:
- Current Rhode Island teaching license with Special Education certification
- Commitment to obtaining or providing a valid National BCI (background check)
- Experience delivering instruction for students with diverse needs, preferably at the elementary level
- Dedication to collaboration with general education teachers and support staff
- Strong organizational and time management skills to balance caseload and documentation demands
