Homebound/Inclusion Special Education Teaching Opening in Texas

A Texas school district is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students in a unique split assignment combining homebound instruction and middle school inclusion services. This role is ideal for a flexible, compassionate educator who is comfortable working with medically complex students and collaborating closely with families and support staff.

Position Details:

• Discipline: Special Education Teacher

• Location: Texas

• Dates: ASAP – May 22, 2026

• Schedule: Full assignment split between mornings and afternoons

  • AM: Homebound instruction

  • PM: Middle school inclusion support

Assignment Overview:

• Homebound (AM):

  • Provide individualized instruction to students who are medically fragile and unable to attend school

  • Collaborate closely with parents/guardians and a 1:1 nurse

  • Adapt instruction to meet students’ medical and educational needs in a home setting

• Middle School Inclusion (PM):

  • Support students with disabilities within general education classrooms

  • Implement IEP accommodations and modifications

  • Collaborate with general education teachers and campus support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals in both homebound and inclusion settings

• Maintain consistent communication with families, medical personnel, and school teams

• Document progress and ensure compliance with special education requirements

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary collaboration

• Adjust instructional strategies to meet diverse and complex student needs

Qualifications:

• Active Texas Special Education certification

• Experience with homebound services and/or medically complex students preferred

• Middle school inclusion experience strongly preferred

• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
