Special Education Teacher - Cranston, RI

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a dedicated Special Education Teacher for 5th grade in a dynamic school setting near Cranston, RI. This full-time contract position runs Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year.

Working with a manageable caseload of 9 students while reaching up to 15-17 in reading and writing, you will deliver specially designed instruction and collaborate with general education teachers. You'll enjoy variety in your schedule, with one period serving as a resource block and the remaining periods co-taught or push-in support settings, helping students with diverse learning needs achieve their goals.

Key Requirements:

• Active Rhode Island teaching license with Special Education certification
• Eligibility to work in Rhode Island and willingness to obtain a National BCI
• Experience supporting students with learning differences (preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusion and academic growth

Role Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction in reading and writing
• Co-teach and provide push-in support within the general education classroom
• Manage a caseload by maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports
• Collaborate with staff, families, and service providers to develop student IEPs
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture that encourages student success
