An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact supporting 5th grade learners in an inclusive school environment. This full-time contract role offers a dynamic blend of teaching settings, perfect for passionate educators who thrive in both resource and co-teaching models.

In this position, you’ll work Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 2:45pm, serving a primary caseload of nine students while providing specialized reading and writing instruction to a broader group of 15-17 students throughout the day. Your responsibilities will include delivering one period of resource support and three to four periods of co-taught or push-in instruction, collaborating closely with general education teachers to implement effective, individualized strategies in the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teacher license and certification to teach in Rhode Island
  • Willingness to obtain a National BCI (background check)
  • Experience with resource, co-taught, and push-in instructional models preferred
  • Ability to address a range of learning abilities and styles, particularly in reading and writing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction in reading and writing to 5th grade students
  • Support and case manage a small caseload, ensuring compliance with IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student achievement

This is a W-2 contract role with competitive compensation, access to 401k, and a comprehensive insurance and benefits package.
