Qualifications & Experience:
- Current teaching license in Special Education (mild to moderate or severe license required)
- Experience in an elementary classroom setting, preferably with developmental or special education students
- Familiarity with IEP creation and progress monitoring
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet unique student needs
- Strong communication skills and capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans for each student
- Deliver instruction tailored to developmental and academic requirements
- Track and report student progress, making appropriate modifications as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to optimize student support
- Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed of student progress and strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and other required school or district functions
