Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current teaching license in Special Education (mild to moderate or severe license required)
  • Experience in an elementary classroom setting, preferably with developmental or special education students
  • Familiarity with IEP creation and progress monitoring
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet unique student needs
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for each student
  • Deliver instruction tailored to developmental and academic requirements
  • Track and report student progress, making appropriate modifications as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to optimize student support
  • Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed of student progress and strategies
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other required school or district functions
