Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting
- Strong knowledge of middle and high school curriculum
- Ability to manage a self-contained classroom environment
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs
- Collaborative mindset for partnering with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to middle and high school students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with mandates
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals to provide effective behavioral and academic support
- Assess student progress and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust instruction
- Engage in IEP meetings and provide regular updates to parents and staff
- Manage records and documentation according to school policies
