Special Education Teacher | Cranston, Rhode Island

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Previous experience working in a school-based setting
• Strong knowledge of middle and high school curriculum
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom environment
• Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs
• Collaborative mindset for partnering with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to middle and high school students in a self-contained classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with mandates
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
• Coordinate with paraprofessionals to provide effective behavioral and academic support
• Assess student progress and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to adjust instruction
• Engage in IEP meetings and provide regular updates to parents and staff
• Manage records and documentation according to school policies
