Two contract positions are available, each designed to match your interests—either working with PreK-2nd graders or supporting students in grades 6-8. You’ll provide essential instructional support through both push-in and push-out models, closely aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for truly impactful results.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Rhode Island Special Education Teaching License required
- Experience with a range of disabilities and adaptive teaching strategies preferred
- Skilled in collaborating with teachers, related services staff, and families
- Effective communication, organization, and classroom management abilities
- Adaptability to shifting needs based on student IEPs
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction per student IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers to ensure seamless inclusion
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and maintain compliance with special education documentation
- Participate in orientation beginning August 24th and prepare for students’ arrival on August 27th
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and responsive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and address concerns
Position Details:
- PreK-2nd Grade: 7:30am–3:00pm
- 6th–8th Grade: 8:00am–4:00pm
- Manage a caseload averaging 12-17 students, providing both push-in and push-out services depending on needs
