Special Education Teacher | Cranston, Rhode Island

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Rhode Island Special Education Certification for grades K-6 is required
• Experience working with elementary students in special education settings preferred
• Ability to manage a small group, focusing on individualized and small group instruction
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
• Committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a resource classroom caseload of 14 students, working primarily with groups of 4-5 at a time
• Deliver targeted instruction that meets individual education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and school teams to support students’ learning
• Track, document, and report student progress towards IEP goals
• Foster a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered
