Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Rhode Island Special Education Certification for grades K-6 is required
- Experience working with elementary students in special education settings preferred
- Ability to manage a small group, focusing on individualized and small group instruction
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families
- Committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a resource classroom caseload of 14 students, working primarily with groups of 4-5 at a time
- Deliver targeted instruction that meets individual education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and school teams to support students’ learning
- Track, document, and report student progress towards IEP goals
- Foster a welcoming, supportive atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered
