Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Special Education Adapted Curriculum K-12 license
- Expertise in working with students with significant support needs, including non-verbal communication
- Demonstrated experience managing and de-escalating self-injurious behaviors
- Patience, creativity, and resourcefulness in adapting instruction
- Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation of hours and progress
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, compensatory special education services to one student, following their unique learning plan
- Implement specialized strategies and interventions that address communication needs and promote student safety
- Collaborate closely with caregivers and other professionals to align on effective supports
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and consistent teaching environment in the student’s home
- Regularly document student growth and report on completed instructional hours
- Adapt to various instructional modalities if required (in-person or virtual, pending confirmation)
