Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching credential
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in K-5 environments
  • Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
  • Experience collaborating with classroom staff and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of specially designed instruction for students with varying disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and track student IEPs in compliance with federal and state guidelines
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to instructional assistants or paraprofessionals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to promote student success and inclusion
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress meetings
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student achievements, needs, and goals
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices
