Special Education Teacher | Crystal Lake, Illinois

Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a collaborative, inclusive PreK blended classroom environment. In this contract position, you'll work alongside a general education teacher and dedicated paraprofessionals to guide and nurture a group of 3 to 5-year-olds. With a class size capped at 18 students, you’ll have the chance to provide personalized attention and help each child thrive in the classroom.

Your classroom day runs from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a balanced schedule that allows for both professional fulfillment and personal time. This role gives you the opportunity to foster an environment where all children feel valued, supported, and motivated to reach their unique potential.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with PreK or early childhood populations preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Genuine enthusiasm for supporting students with varying needs and backgrounds
• Patience, flexibility, and a passionate approach to inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-teach and plan engaging lessons in a blended PreK setting with support staff
• Adapt instruction to meet individualized learning needs and IEP goals
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Foster a warm, positive, and inclusive classroom culture
• Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Participate in meetings and professional development relevant to early childhood special education
