Special Education Teacher in Crystal Lake, IL

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher with a passion for making an impact in middle school education. This full-time, contract position provides the chance to work with 6th through 8th grade students in a dynamic environment near Crystal Lake, IL. The role spans from ASAP through May 27th, 2027, with working hours from 7:20am to 3:20pm, offering consistency and stability.

You will thrive in both co-taught and self-contained classroom settings, working alongside general educators and support staff to deliver core curriculum while supporting students’ diverse learning needs. As an IEP Case Manager, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that each student’s educational plan is developed and implemented with care and expertise.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education (SPED) Endorsement
• Experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Background in managing and coordinating IEPs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail

Primary Responsibilities:

• Co-teach and/or lead instruction in core subject areas for special education students
• Oversee and manage IEPs, coordinating meetings and documentation
• Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to meet individual student needs
• Maintain regular communication with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Collect and report data related to student progress
