A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to work with middle school students in grades 6-8. This contract role is based in a self-contained classroom, serving a caseload of 10 students. The position focuses on delivering adapted curriculum support, but does not serve students with severe disabilities, offering a balanced and nurturing educational environment.
Additionally, there may be an opening for an Elementary Inclusion Teacher, supporting grades K-2, with a current caseload of 13 students. Details for this role will be clarified soon, offering flexible opportunities for candidates with varied experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia teaching certificate with Special Education Adapted Curriculum endorsement
- Experience supporting middle school or elementary-level students with exceptionalities
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodation strategies
- Ability to collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for fostering student growth, independence, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver adapted curriculum instruction to a small group setting for middle school students
- Develop and modify IEPs to suit the unique needs of each student
