Special Education Teacher in Cusseta, GA

Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in a self-contained classroom environment. This full-time, contract position spans from ASAP through May 7th, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference with a small K-5 caseload. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team and two paraprofessionals to provide specialized instruction and guidance for eight students, helping them reach their fullest potential in a supportive setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification in Special Education
• Adaptive curriculum certificate required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5), preferably in a self-contained classroom
• Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom climate

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction using adaptive curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with colleagues and families
• Provide clear structure and behavioral supports in the classroom
• Coordinate with two paraprofessionals to facilitate individualized attention and intervention
• Maintain detailed documentation on student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Partner with related service providers to ensure holistic student support
• Encourage growth and celebrate milestones to boost student confidence and engagement
