Special Education Teacher in Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role, beginning August 24th, 2026, and running through June 7th, 2027, offers the chance to work in one building near Cuyahoga Falls and serve two distinct special education classrooms.

You’ll collaborate in either a classroom supporting 9-12 students with multiple disabilities—including autism, non-verbal communication needs, and physical impairments—or with a group of 10-15 students with emotional disabilities, providing vital behavioral support, social-emotional instruction, and crisis intervention as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid Special Education teaching credentials
• Experience managing caseloads of students with moderate to severe disabilities and/or emotional disabilities
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Background with BIPS, behavior management, and de-escalation strategies
• Effective collaboration skills with other educators, therapists, and support staff
• Compassion, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to shifting classroom needs
• Crisis intervention training or experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with individual student IEPs
• Maintain data and accurate records on student progress and interventions
• Create an inclusive, structured, and supportive environment for all learners
• Communicate regularly with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Support social-emotional learning and behavior intervention planning
• Foster a positive classroom culture that encourages growth and independence
