Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Special Education teaching license/certification in Texas
  • Possess additional certification in secondary math
  • Previous experience working in high school or similar educational environments preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative teamwork with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to tailor lesson plans and teaching strategies to individual student needs

What You’ll Do:

  • Create and deliver differentiated lessons for a high school caseload, adapting materials as needed for various learning styles
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress closely
  • Maintain effective classroom management and a positive, inclusive environment
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure each student’s goals are met
  • Document assessments, report progress, and participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
