Special Education Teacher | Dallas, Texas

An opportunity awaits for compassionate Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in a contract role in the greater Dallas area. In this position, you will play a vital part in fostering development, inclusion, and academic progress within specialized classroom settings at elementary schools. There are three openings, each with a unique caseload—supporting either a life skills classroom, an autism-focused setting, or a behavior intervention room. You will be assigned to one campus and work full-time, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, from the start date through the end of the academic year.

Requirements:

• Accredited bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certificate.
• Ability to complete Texas Education Agency (TEA) fingerprinting if not done for another public school district within the past year.
• Experience working in special education and an enthusiasm for supporting diverse needs.
• Team-player mindset and willingness to collaborate with parents, general educators, and related service providers.
• Excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach to behavior intervention and academic adaptation.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in a self-contained, specialized classroom (TLC/Total Language or Life Skills), utilizing small group rotations and individualized strategies.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods according to student IEPs.
• Collect data, monitor progress, and contribute to IEP meetings and documentation.
• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and families to maximize student outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with district and state requirements for reporting and classroom documentation.
