Special Education Teacher in Dallas, TX

As a contract Special Education Teacher, you will work full-time (37.5 hours per week) at one elementary school, with opportunities to contribute to diverse classroom environments including life skills, autism support, behavior intervention, or academic curriculum modification. Key Qualifications:

• Accredited bachelor’s degree required
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certificate
• Previous experience in special education classrooms, preferably in life skills, autism, behavior support, or academic intervention
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers
• Commitment to student-centered educational approaches and individualized learning plans
• Must complete fingerprinting through TEA if not previously cleared by a Texas public school district

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction, interventions, and classroom support aligned with student IEPs in a self-contained or modified curriculum classroom
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet individual student needs
• Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation in academic, social, and extracurricular activities (including art, PE, and lunch)
• Maintain progress monitoring, data collection, and timely documentation for student growth and compliance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized education programs
• Support inclusive environments and facilitate small-group rotations or classroom routines
