Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • A current, active Special Education (SPED) teaching license/certification in Texas
  • Certification in secondary math (required for working with students at the high school level)
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school aged students in special education settings
  • Ability to adapt instruction and classroom strategies to support a range of learning needs
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging special education instruction to high school students, with a focus on math content areas
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Maintain necessary documentation for compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Provide ongoing academic and behavioral support tailored to each student’s unique needs
  • Engage in regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals
