Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teacher certification required
  • Texas Department of Education License necessary
  • EC-12 certification required; EC-6 or 6-12 Generalist/Core preferred
  • Proven experience with ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, including active participation and documentation
  • Professional references provided upon presentation
  • Adherence to district dress code, including professional attire, limited piercings, and conservative hair color

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to support students with varying needs, in both self-contained and resource/inclusion settings
  • Guide caseloads typically ranging from 8–14 students in self-contained/life skills/SLC programs and 20–30 students in resource/inclusion roles
  • Teach in classroom settings with a student ratio of 10–14 (self-contained, with two paraprofessionals) or 8–16 (resource classes)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in ARD meetings, and communicate effectively with families and staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
