In this position, you’ll work closely with a small caseload of approximately 8-10 students, primarily in 1st and 2nd grades, with some inclusion of Kindergarteners. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting students with autism, developmental delays, speech and language challenges, self-regulation needs, and various learning disabilities. While toileting is not generally required, there is one student with a toileting supervision goal.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Holds an active teaching license with the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC), including a P-12 Special Education endorsement and the Dyslexia endorsement.
  • Experience or passion for working with students with diverse and significant needs.
  • Skilled in managing behaviors and adapting instruction in an inclusive classroom.
  • Knowledgeable about elementary curriculum and individualized support planning.
  • Collaborative, patient, and dedicated to fostering student growth and independence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction within an inclusion setting.
  • Develop and implement IEPs, track progress, and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, specialists, and families.
  • Support students in achieving social, emotional, and academic milestones.
  • Provide positive behavior interventions and strategies tailored to each learner.
