Special Education Teacher in Dalton, GA

This full-time position focuses on engaging Pre-K students, aged 3-5, within a dedicated Special Education program. Students in this setting may require assistance with daily routines such as toilet training, feeding, and behavior support, and many have limited or non-verbal communication abilities. This is an excellent role for an educator committed to making a difference in the lives of early learners through individualized instruction and compassionate care.

Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with endorsements in both Special and General Education for Pre-K age groups
• Experience in early childhood or special education, especially with pre-K or early intervention preferred
• Competence in supporting children with varying levels of need, including non-verbal students and those requiring personal care support
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies tailored to young children
• Strong communication skills, collaborative approach, and a positive, nurturing attitude

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for Pre-K students
• Provide support with toileting, diapering, and feeding as needed
• Adapt and deliver engaging instructional activities in accordance with each child’s development
• Track progress and document daily activities for each student
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment

Position Details:

• Contract role beginning ASAP through May 21, 2027
• Full-time schedule, 37.5 hours per week
