Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher within a welcoming school near Danbury, CT. This position focuses on 4th/5th grade or 7th/8th grade resource classrooms. Working with a schedule of 8:15am-3:45pm, Monday through Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch), you'll contribute 35 hours each week, beginning as soon as August 25, 2026, and continuing through June 7, 2027.

This role is designed for educators passionate about fostering student growth and promoting educational access. You'll primarily provide targeted, small-group instruction and scheduled pull-out support, while also delivering push-in services as needed to help students succeed in inclusive classroom environments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education licensure in Connecticut with endorsements 165 or 265.
  • Experience with resource classroom models (push-in/pull-out, small groups) preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with general education teachers and support staff.
  • Solid understanding of IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoring.
  • Dedication to adapting instruction and materials to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Provide individualized and small-group support for students in a resource classroom setting.
  • Design and implement lessons tailored to students’ IEP goals.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and multidisciplinary teams.
