Special Education Teacher - Danbury, CT

Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to make an impact in a supportive school environment. We are seeking two passionate professionals for full-time roles during the upcoming school year at a vibrant middle school. Both positions offer the chance to work with motivated students and collaborate closely with fellow educators.

Position Highlights:

• 2026/2027 school year contract, Monday through Friday
• Full-time, 35–37.5 hours weekly
• Two openings: one focusing on 6th grade ELA, reading intervention, and math; the other supporting grades 6–8 academic assistance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current or eligibility for Connecticut Special Education Teacher certification is required
• Experience or training in reading interventions (SPIRE, WILSON, Orton-Gillingham, etc.) is highly desired for the ELA/Math role
• Strong understanding of executive functioning and academic assistance strategies for the grades 6–8 position
• Passion for supporting diverse learners and individualized instruction
• Collaborative approach with excellent communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide specialized instruction in small group and one-on-one settings
• You will support students’ success in English Language Arts, Math, and essential executive functioning skills
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to best address student needs
• Maintain documentation and communicate student progress
