Step into a pivotal role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusion and resource setting. This contract opportunity runs through June 11, with hours from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM. Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification for Grades 9–12 (provisional licenses not accepted)
- Previous experience working with high school students in either inclusion or resource settings is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and strategies for differentiating instruction
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to partner effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions in line with each student’s IEP goals
- Foster a supportive classroom environment, working within both inclusion and resource rooms
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies to meet evolving needs
- Collaborate consistently with general education colleagues to ensure seamless student support
- Uphold district and state special education regulations and documentation standards
