Special Education Teacher | Darlington, South Carolina

Step into an impactful contract role supporting students with specialized learning needs in an elementary setting. Two immediate openings are available for experienced and passionate Special Education professionals who are eager to make a difference. The positions are based onsite, serving young learners in self-contained classrooms with the support of dedicated paraeducators.

Desired skills and qualifications:

• Current Special Education teaching license, or eligibility for emergency, pending, or alternative certification (including Teachers of America and ITeach programs)
• Experience working with elementary or PreK students, ideally in self-contained or Autism-focused classrooms
• Strong classroom management skills and collaborative approach with support staff and families
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet each student's unique needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to either Kindergarten–2nd grade students with Autism or PreK students in a self-contained special education setting
• Develop and implement IEPs in cooperation with families, therapists, and related service providers
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and regular progress monitoring
• Maintain accurate records, track student progress, and communicate effectively with the educational team
• Supervise and collaborate with paraeducators to ensure a high level of student support
• Engage in ongoing professional development

This contracted opportunity is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, running through late May 2027. Professionals open to travel assignments and those pending certification are encouraged to apply.
