Special Education Teacher | Darlington, South Carolina

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification required
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged students
• Familiarity or background with self-contained classroom environments preferred
• Previous work with students diagnosed with autism and/or moderate intellectual disabilities is advantageous
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction tailored to individual needs, IEP goals, and learning styles within a self-contained classroom setting
• Develop and implement lesson plans fostering both academic and social-emotional growth
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student progress
• Monitor, document, and report student achievements and challenges
• Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment encouraging independence and self-advocacy
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse spectrum of student abilities
