Qualifications & Preferred Background:

• Current state certification as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills working with students with varied learning needs
• Experience teaching in self-contained classrooms, especially at the middle or high school level, is highly valued
• Solid understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and differentiation strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with parents, colleagues, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create a positive, structured classroom environment that accommodates diverse learners
• Collaborate with related service providers, general educators, and families to support student growth
• Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress, preparing reports and participating in IEP meetings
• Foster independence, self-advocacy, and social skills in students
• Maintain records and comply with all district and state special education requirements
