Special Education Teacher in Dayton, OH

Key Experience & Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching certification in Special Education is required
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs
• Team-oriented with a passion for collaborating with general education staff, aides, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive instruction tailored to meet IEP goals for students with a variety of learning disabilities and behavioral needs
• Assess student progress regularly and modify objectives as needed
• Maintain detailed records and provide timely updates to parents and educational teams
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages growth and independence
• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives that support special education services
• Communicate effectively with families, interdisciplinary teams, and school administration
