Preferred candidates will possess strong experience working with students on the autism spectrum as well as the mandatory Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801). In this position, you will collaborate with a supportive school community to make a meaningful impact across the 2026-2027 academic year (August 18, 2026 - June 10, 2027).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801) required
- Demonstrated experience teaching students with autism and varied mild-to-moderate disabilities
- Familiarity with individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention strategies
- Ability to adapt curriculum and methodologies to meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach high school students with a range of disabilities in an inclusive, cross-categorical classroom
- Develop and implement instructional plans in alignment with students’ IEPs
- Foster a supportive, positive learning environment to maximize student achievement and independence
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families
- Monitor student progress, adjust instruction, and collect relevant data
