A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available in Dearborn, MI, serving students in grades K–2. This role requires providing specialized support for young learners with cognitive impairments, delivering tailored educational experiences that foster growth and development. This position is full-time and onsite, allowing you to directly engage with students and collaborate closely with the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with cognitive impairments
  • Deliver instruction tailored to the unique needs of students in grades K–2
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to support academic and social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and families to support student progress
  • Maintain CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification or obtain and renew it annually
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license with Cognitive Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) endorsement
  • Experience working with young children in special education settings preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse learning needs and behavior challenges positively
  • Willingness to maintain CPI certification annually or currently certified
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Location: Dearborn, MI
Work Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Employment Type: Contract for the 2026/27 academic year (exact dates to be determined)
