Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SPED Licensure (verification required via the Alabama certification portal)
- Experience or coursework in special education practices for elementary-aged children
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ varying needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive academic environment
Role Highlights and Responsibilities:
- Work onsite in an energetic school environment supporting elementary students across three classroom models: Inclusion, Self-Contained, and Behavior Unit
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring instruction is tailored to each student
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, and families to cultivate student growth and achievement
- Maintain accurate and timely records on student progress and behavior
- Offer direct instruction, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional learning support as needed
- Engage in regular professional development and team planning meetings
