Special Education Teacher | Deatsville, Alabama

Two positions are available serving elementary-aged learners in self-contained classrooms, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 2027. You’ll work on-site with dedicated paraeducator/aide support, fostering an environment where each child can thrive.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Special Education Certification (either K-6 or 6-12); you may confirm your credentials at the Alabama education certification portal
• Experience working with elementary students in a self-contained special education setting is highly valued
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction
• Collaborative approach when working with aides, colleagues, and families
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Role Highlights:

• Provide instruction for elementary students in a self-contained special education classroom
• Collaborate with paraeducator or aide support daily to maximize student growth
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Establish a structured and positive classroom environment encouraging academic and social development
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting in compliance with all educational guidelines
• Engage with families and support teams to foster student success
• Work 37.5 hours per week on a consistent, Monday-Friday schedule
