Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting foundational learning for early childhood to 6th-grade students for the 2026-2027 school year. This hands-on role focuses on life skills instruction within a small classroom setting, working closely with a total of five students—two of whom require more extensive functional support.
You’ll play a key role in a collaborative environment, actively participating in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, and ensuring the educational success of each student while adhering to the district’s community-oriented dress and conduct policies.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Department of Education license with Special Education and Core/Generalist endorsements
- Demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in foundational/life skills settings
- Comfortable and capable in ARD meetings, contributing insights and advocating for students
- Commitment to professional appearance: single color hair, professional attire, no visible tattoos, and limited earrings as per school policy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized life skills and foundational academic instruction to EC-6 students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in alignment with student needs
- Foster positive, inclusive classroom environments
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families to support student growth
- Attend and actively contribute to ARD meetings, advocating for student needs
