Special Education Teacher | Del Valle, Texas

Embark on an impactful teaching journey supporting elementary students with diverse needs for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, contract opportunity focuses on foundational learning and life skills, serving a small group of five students, including two who require more functional support than life skills assistance. Schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM, offering a consistent 37.5-hour workweek. You'll contribute pivotal expertise, especially with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, guiding individualized education plans and collaborating closely with staff and families. Participation in the school's SAMA (Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression) training is available, adding valuable tools for classroom management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education Endorsement (EC-6)
• Prior experience with ARD meetings, including active participation and collaboration
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction for students with significant needs
• Familiarity with positive behavioral supports and reinforcement systems
• Willingness to comply with professional dress code requirements: professional attire, limited visible piercings, conventional hair color, and no visible tattoos

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction to develop life and foundational skills in a small group setting
• Provide functional and adaptive support tailored to individual student needs
• Implement evidence-based behavioral strategies and reinforcement models
• Ensure compliance with IEPs, documentation, and reporting
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during ARD meetings and on a daily basis
