Desired Background & Skills:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for elementary/middle school levels
• Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher or with inclusive classrooms
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families
• Skill in accommodating instruction for varying abilities, with adaptive teaching strategies
• Experience working with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students is highly preferred
• Strong organizational skills and a patient, compassionate approach

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with demonstrated needs
• Provide targeted instruction in resource and/or classroom settings for 4th-6th grade levels
• Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to promote student success
• Use creative, differentiated instructional techniques to engage and support all learners
• Regularly assess student progress, adjusting strategies and supports as needed
• Communicate progress and challenges with families, maintaining a positive partnership
• Uphold all special education legal requirements and documentation
