Special Education Teacher | Denton, Maryland

In this full-time role, you’ll have an essential impact on middle and high school learners in an inclusive, co-teaching setting—helping students with learning disabilities, other health impairments, autism, and language impairments reach their full potential.

This opportunity features a manageable caseload of approximately 10–15 students at a time and involves both push-in and pull-out service models, with most specialized instruction delivered in the general education classroom. You’ll work closely with general education teachers, staff, and families, emphasizing teamwork and a holistic approach to student success.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Maryland Special Education License (required)
• Prior school-based special education experience is highly desirable
• Strong skills in collaboration and classroom management
• Dedication to inclusive education practices and adapting supports to individual student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ academic and social-emotional goals
• Collaborate daily with general education teachers and related service staff
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
• Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
