This full-time contract role (32 hours/week) spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering you the opportunity to shape young lives and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators. Start and end times will vary based on campus schedules, typically within the range of 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day.
Bring your expertise in tailored instruction and intervention programs to create engaging, supportive learning environments for students with unique needs. You'll play a crucial role in driving student growth through proven interventions like Read 180, iSPIRE, the Bridges Program, and Orton-Gillingham, adjusting methods based on the needs of your caseload. IEP responsibilities are central to this position, with IEP Days usually scheduled on Tuesdays.
What you will need:
- Valid Maryland Special Education (SPED) Certification
- Experience teaching or supporting elementary special education in a self-contained setting
- Familiarity with intervention programs such as Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges, and Orton-Gillingham is highly valued
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage IEPs and collaborate with staff and families
- Compassion, flexibility, and a student-centered mindset
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in a self-contained classroom for elementary-age students
- Collaborate on intervention program planning and execution, tailoring strategies to individual learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs while communicating progress and needs with stakeholders
