Step into a meaningful role as a Special Education Teacher, working with high school students in the Centreville, MD area and surrounding communities near Denton, MD. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a full-time schedule of 32 hours per week from August 17, 2026, to June 18, 2027. Enjoy a dynamic workweek, Monday through Friday, with variable start and end times ranging from 7:25 am to 2:30 pm (based on campus needs), allowing for a supportive blend of consistency and flexibility.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Maryland Special Education Certification required
- Experience or interest in high school resource and inclusion settings
- Expertise in co-teaching and classroom collaboration with General Education teachers
- Proficiency or familiarity with instructional interventions including Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges Program, and Orton-Gillingham approaches
- Previous experience with IEP design, implementation, progress monitoring, and case management preferred
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in a co-teaching environment, providing differentiated instruction in an inclusive classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet unique student learning needs
- Use targeted interventions tailored to your students
- Provide consistent, timely communication with staff and families
- Participate in IEP meetings—typically held on Tuesdays, with potential for adjustment
