Denver Special Education Teacher Needed for Middle School Classroom

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in the Denver area. This role focuses primarily on mild to moderate disabilities, with the possibility of occasional support within an Affective Needs program as needed. The majority of services are delivered in small-group settings, allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction.

Position Details:

• Grade Level: Middle School

• Hours: 30 hours per week

• Caseload: Primarily mild/moderate; may provide limited support to Affective Needs students

• Instructional Model: Small-group support (typically 5–8 students per group)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted special education services to middle school students with mild to moderate needs

• Deliver small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals and academic standards

• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and support staff

• Support IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring

• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district requirements

• Assist with affective/behavioral supports when assigned, in collaboration with the school team

Requirements:

• Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education License

• Experience working with middle school students preferred

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• Ability to differentiate instruction and manage small-group learning environments
