Openings include both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and part-time (.5 FTE) positions in innovative, well-supported school environments. Each role is campus-based, allowing for deep connection with students and colleagues. Classrooms typically have 8-15 students, with paraeducator and peer teacher support, as well as occasional push-in specialists.
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education license with Special Education endorsement required
- Experience working with students with significant autism needs (AAC device familiarity a plus)
- Proficiency in building life skills and emotional/self-regulation in elementary settings
- Skills in de-escalating unsafe behaviors and implementing data-driven behavioral systems (for AN roles)
- Comfortable managing adult staff and collaborative team environments
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to IEP goals across various support settings (SLS, SSN, AN, Learning Specialist)
- Utilize and implement adaptive communication tools (e.g., AAC devices) as needed
- Design structured daily routines that promote skill building and independence
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress; adjust strategies to meet evolving needs
