Several full-time contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers with a passion for supporting students with diverse needs, including significant autism and emotional or behavioral challenges. Positions are available at elementary and middle school levels, each focused on fostering growth, communication, and functional independence.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education certificate with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience working with students with significant autism, including those who are non-verbal
  • Familiarity with AAC devices preferred
  • Effective classroom management skills, especially de-escalating behaviors and implementing data-driven systems
  • Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, teachers, and specialized service providers
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction tailored to affective, behavioral, and academic needs
  • Develop and implement IEPs; monitor progress and adjust supports as needed
  • Build essential life skills in students, supporting their adjustment to the school environment
  • Work closely with classroom paraprofessionals and co-teachers to provide structured, supportive learning
  • Collaborate with related service providers and families for holistic student support
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in meetings with school teams

Available Specializations:

  • Affective Needs Teacher
  • SSN Teacher (Significant Support Needs, center-based program)
  • SLS Teacher (Structured Learning Services, K–2nd students)
  • Learning Specialist (elementary and middle school)
