Make a real impact in the lives of students by taking on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in the Denver, CO area. You'll support elementary-age children with very significant cognitive and behavioral disabilities within small, structured classroom settings (7-15 students), drawing on your dedication and expertise to foster growth and inclusion.
Students in your classroom will benefit from a collaborative approach, with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, and Psychology) pushing in to provide comprehensive support. Your role will involve leading a team of paraprofessionals, implementing researched-based strategies for autism, and ensuring all students have the resources they need to engage and thrive—many of whom are non-verbal and utilize alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) methods. Experience in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), station-based classrooms, and managing challenging behaviors (such as eloping, biting, and hitting) is highly valued.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
- Proven experience working with students with autism and significant behavioral support needs

- Experience leading paraprofessional staff in classroom settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for autism
- Strong skills in developing and executing FBA/BIPs
- Expertise with station-based or highly structured classroom models preferred
