Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students in a dynamic educational environment near Denver, CO. This full-time position runs from February 24th to May 21st, focusing on delivering high-quality special education services in a traditional, in-person setting. The ideal candidate holds a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Generalist endorsement and is passionate about inclusive education.
Key Qualifications:
- Active CDE SPED License with Generalist Endorsement (5-21) required
- Proof of application necessary if full license not yet issued
- Only professional teacher licenses considered—substitute, temporary, interim licenses, or travelers are not eligible unless the correct endorsement is already in process
- Experience at the middle school level preferred
- Deep understanding of the special education IEP process
- Expertise in specially designed instruction, alternative standards, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to middle school students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state requirements
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiate to meet unique student needs
- Engage in data-driven decision making and maintain comprehensive student records
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and professional development
This role is strictly in-person—virtual, hybrid, or VOCO placements are not available. Candidates should come prepared for interviews ready to discuss their classroom practices, instructional strategies, and collaboration skills in depth.
