Special Education Teacher in Derry, NH

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (active or eligible)
• School-based experience preferred, particularly with elementary students
• Strong knowledge of current special education practices and legal requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
• Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs tailored to students’ unique needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to small groups and individual students within the special education program
• Collaborate with general education teachers through co-teaching and other supportive models
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
