Step into a rewarding role serving K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in the greater Chicago area. As a vital educator, you’ll create inclusive and supportive learning environments, working with students who have a range of learning, emotional, and autism spectrum needs. This full-time contract position offers 35–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with immediate openings through the end of the school year.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement for K-22
  • Demonstrated experience developing and writing measurable IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
  • Prior experience working with students across a spectrum of abilities and disabilities, including learning, emotional, and autistic support needs
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering student growth and success in an inclusive setting

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction to diverse learners in K-12 classrooms
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual IEPs tailored to each student’s unique strengths and challenges
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Maintain regular communication with families and team members regarding student progress and goals
  • Employ positive behavior support strategies and adapt curriculum as needed
  • Document all services, accommodations, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner
