Key Qualifications:
- Current Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS-I) certification valid in the State of Illinois
- Experience teaching special education, particularly at the elementary level (K-5)
- Background in working with students on the autism spectrum highly preferred
- Strong skills in individualized instruction, classroom management, and collaboration with support staff
- Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction and interventions tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Utilize best practices for students with autism and additional learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and related service professionals
- Maintain timely documentation and regular communication with families
