Make a real impact as a dedicated professional working in a supportive elementary setting for students who thrive with extra guidance. This contract position is for a self-contained classroom serving 4th and 5th graders, with a focused and collaborative environment shaped by a small class size of 7-8 students. The role runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with the opportunity for early onboarding during new teacher orientation if you join by August 5-11.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license (LBSI or equivalent required)
  • Previous classroom experience in Special Education, especially with self-contained settings
  • Familiarity or experience with Unique or STAR curriculum highly preferred
  • Commitment to individualized learning and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Genuine passion for helping elementary students grow both academically and personally

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction and manage a self-contained classroom for 4th and 5th graders
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's unique learning needs
  • Collaborate with a team of fellow self-contained teachers to share resources and best practices
  • Communicate regularly with staff, specialists, and families to ensure student progress and well-being
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
  • Participate in school meetings and professional development as scheduled
